The warning went out in the autumn of 2017. The medical experts' predicted that this year's flu season would be especially serious. They believed that a nasty flu strain would affect the population throughout the country. Unfortunately, their predictions were all too true.

A particularly virulent flu strain called Influenza A or H3N2 has become an epidemic in all 49 states except Hawaii.
